Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, will visit Finland at the invitation of Matti Vanhanen, Speaker of Parliament, on 20-21 June. During her visit, Metsola will also meet with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö.
On Monday, 20 June, Metsola will, among other things, meet young people at the Helsinki Central Library Oodi, speak at a Paasikivi Society event and meet with the management of the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats.
President Niinistö and President Metsola will meet on Tuesday morning, June 21, at Kultaranta.
After a meeting with Speaker Vanhanen in Parliament, Metsola will hold a discussion with Speaker Vanhanen, Chair of the Grand Committee Satu Hassi and representatives of the parliamentary groups. The topics of discussion are Russia's invasion of Ukraine, European security, and the future of the EU.
