Mr. Juhana Vartiainen, Chair of the Commerce Committee in a plenary session.
The Finnish parliament accepted a proposal for financial support to the restaurant industry to compensate the loss of income due to government restrictions for businesses. The proposal also aims to support rehiring.
The commerce committee reminded in their committee report that parliament accepted the restrictions to the restaurant industry with the condition that such compensation will be arranged. The committee report changed the government’s proposal in terms of the time frame the loss of income will be compared to and that it would include those companies who outsource their workforce.
The parliament first accepted the contents of the bill according to the committee report on May 20th in the first reading. The second reading on May 26th included four proposed resolutions from the opposition groups National coalition and Finns, but no resolutions were accepted.
